Our most popular tournament, the Glen Rock Quads run every Saturday (with only holdiays as exceptions) at our Glen Rock Location. In general, players are split into quads (sections of four people) by rating. At times, playes are split in sections of six (a swiss format) to either accomodate numbers or better group players based off rating. Regardless, all players are guaranteed three rated games. In addition, we offer cash prizes for winners of each section! Section winners win $60, while runners up of only swiss sections win $15.
Each player is guaranteed three games. Players rated under 1000 will play in G/30;d5 sections (30 minutes per person with a five second delay per turn), while players rated over 1000 will play in G/45;d5 sections (45 minutes per person with a five second delay).
The entry fee is $30 per tournament and online registration closes at 12pm the day of the tournament. In addition, onsite registration is available on the day of the tournament from 10:00am to 12:00 pm. Both online and onsite registration will close of we reach our maximum capacity of 80 participants.
The first round starts at 1:30pm SHARP. Further rounds are played immediately after individual sections are finished.
Our tournaments are for people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels! We provide sets, scoresheets, clocks, and pencils. All you need to bring is yourself (on time) and a readiness to play!
